Good Morning, Hurriyat !!!

IndianExpress.com :: Hurriyat wants to see Pandits back, ready to apologise

Whats this?

A Kashmiri Muslim leader finally wakes up from a 17 year long slumber. Did his masters in the valley and their masters in Islamabad approve of this admission?

On 20th June 2007, at an event to mark the “World Refugee Day” organised by Roots In Kashmir – A Kashmiri Pandit Youth initiative, a senior representative of the Mirwaiz Umer Farooq faction of Hurriyat conference conceded that the Kashmiri Pandits had to leave the valley – hounded out by excesses committed on them. He also added that his Hurriyat was ready to apologize to the Kashmiri Pandit community for these excesses.

While I am somewhat glad that one soul amongst Kashmiri Muslims has finally found the nerve, guts and honesty to admit the facts, I am still somewhat confused about it.

Didn’t these very people go about tom-toming for last 17 years that it was Jagmohan (Governor of J&K, 1990) who asked Pandits to leave so that he would cleanse Kashmir of terrorism. This Jagmohan phobia has been so widely repeated and reiterated in the valley – that if today you ask a 10-15 year old kid in the valley a question as simple as “Who are Kashmiri Pandits (or Bhatta’s as we are known in Kashmiri”)?” – the answer you are definitely going to get is “Bhatta’ is a traitor and spy – and Jagmohan asked them to leave Kashmir so that he would kill Muslims”.

ISI and the terror outfits had no choice but to make this make believe story work in the minds on the masses – to lend credence to their story that they movement in Kashmir is for self-determination and not a religious fanatic Jihad. The mature elders in the valley all along knew the truth – but stayed quiet. Who dares challenge a story written by those carrying an AK-47?

Today – suddenly Kashmiri Muslims are ready to apologize to the Pandits – whom their valiant terrorists hounded out of the valley. But why this change of heart?

Has some kind of ‘truth serum’ polluted the waters of Vitasta (Jhelum) or has finally the realization dawned on them – that they can never make the world believe that their agenda isn’t communal – till they get Pandits back into the valley.

If it’s a truth serum at work finally – or the inside voice shaking them vigourously now –will they also apologize to Jagmohan for vilifying him so badly for last 17 years.

If not – I would let this drama pass for now…

"Native Refugees" - Unknown to HT...

Hindustan Times brought out this article on the "World Refugee Day"

Native is foreign to them- Hindustan Times
Like all Indians and rest of Indian Media, they are concerned with refugees of all over the world and sub-continent - but easily forgot about over half-million refugees - who unfortunately happen to be Indians.
Over 500,000 Kashmiri Pandits have been living in exile - away from their homes in Kashmir - thanks to the over-zealous Jihad going on in Kashmir - and also thanks to the total apathy of Indian media and govt.
No one looses a minute to moan and lament about refugees from Afghanistan or those during Gujrat riots. But when it comes to Kashmiri Pandits - secularism is at threat - for talking about the plight of a Hindu lot isn't the right thing to be seen doing in India.

Double Standards!!!

This post is in response to this post by Caashurr
Dear Caashurr,
I share your anguish and pain about the missing people, those killed in encounters and those who left their homes never to return again.
I also wish to remind you of half a million Kashmiri's who were forced out of their homes - never to return again. Kashmiri's whom your generation of Kashmiri' muslims have never known to exist. Kashmiri Pandits, refugees in their own country.
Mr Caashurr, if you really have a heart full of pain - then it can't have double standards, unless you have two hearts. How can you fete and celebrate terrorists like Bitta Karate - who you very well know killed dozens of innocent Kashmiri Pandits in cold blood - their mistake, they were born Hindus. This very man is freely roaming around in the valley today, being honoured and feted as a hero by your ilk. The killer is being honoured amongst you - and you moan atrocities.
Double Standards...!!!
You atleast found so many links in Indian media talking about the problems you want to highlight. Can you show me one link from Kashmiri Media - which has the guts, honesty and truthfulness to acknowledge the atrocities commited against Kashmiri Pandits. If you seek justice, learn to be just first. If you are waging Jihad and celebrating Kalishkovs and AK-47s, there would be only death. Guns your hero's brought across LOC were not going to churn out literary works, they would spew bullets - and thats what they did.

Yasin Malik and his men are your leaders today. He has the audacity to shed Crocodile tears for victims of violence today. This man - who killed dozens in cold blood. Show me some condemnation of his acts in Kashmiri Media...

Double Standards again...!!!

Maybe you can help him answer some of these Questions I had addressed to your leader "Terrorist Yasin Malik".

Like you - A Kashmiri

A Soul in Exile...

Swatantar Bharat ka ek swatantar nagrik?
Ya is ke shatranj ki bisaat pe ek mohra?

Every year, June 20 is observed as World Refugee Day all over the world. As is the practice, this year too, this day will be observed in India as well. Various political leaders will make symbolic speeches. Various NGO activists will organise sit-ins, memorial services and make passionate appeals. The next day, mainstream newspapers may print brief news items about these events on page 21 below the fold. And then we will wait for June 20, 2008.

And the cycle will continue.

While politicians and NGO activists go through this ritual, the actual sufferers -- the refugees for whom this day is actually observed continue to fight for their survival. Right here in India, for the last 17 years, we have more than 400,000 Kashmiri Hindus languishing as refugees in their own country.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Islamic terrorists ethnically cleansed the whole Kashmiri Hindu community from the Kashmir valley by engaging in selective and targeted killings and the world remained silent.

Seventeen World Refugee Days have been observed since this forsaken community was forced to go through the seventh mass exodus in its history but the community is still without a home.

Seventeen World Refugee Days have been observed since the brutal and cruel killings of Kashmiri Hindus prompted the ugly displacement of this community, but the refugee families still live in sub-standard inhumane conditions in single 10x10 refugee camp rooms in the scorching heat of Jammu plains. What a shame!

It is shocking that while Kashmiri Hindu refugees are living, rather dying under appalling conditions, Jammu and Kashmir [Images] Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is getting royal treatment. He is soon going to live in a 66-room palace, which has 15 presidential suites overlooking the famous Dal Lake.

This new official residence is going to be renovated by the state government at a cost of a whopping Rs 11 crore (Rs 100 million).

This is the sixth chief minister's official residence in the state of Jammu & Kashmir that is being renovated using taxpayer's money since an elected government returned to power in J&K in 1996. What a shame!

It is a shame that in a country that is based on the principles of secularism, democracy and equal rights for all, there are more than 400,000 Indians-by-birth languishing as refugees in their own country. What a shame!

It has become fashionable for political parties and NGOs to organise such observance days like World Refugee Day. For them, these are photo-ops to promote themselves but they do not realise that such events reopen the wounds that these refugees have been trying hard to fill. These wounds are deep-rooted and will take generations to heal but try these refugees do. But every year, these camera-hugging politicians and NGOs make a point of reopening those wounds. What a shame!

In the absence of any appreciable support from any governmental agency, mainstream media outlets, political parties, NGOs, and Human Rights organisations, Kashmiri Hindu youth have taken it upon themselves to make the world aware of their status -- the status in which they have absolutely no fundamental rights, no rights to live freely in their own homeland, no rights to practice the religion of their choice, no economic and political rights.

These youth have initiated a movement to connect back to their roots -- roots that are waiting for them in the vale of Kashmir.

These young and progressive minds are organising an event on World Refugee Day, not to promote World Refugee Day, but to create awareness about the denial of fundamental rights to this refugee community of Kashmiri Hindus. This shall be the one event in Delhi that will go where those facades' from NGOs and political parties will not go.

This event will showcase a documentary And the World Remained Silent, produced and directed by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit. This documentary depicts the conditions that were created in Kashmir in 1989-1990 to bring the Kashmiri Hindu community to the verge of extinction. It shows the harsh and dark realities about how one community got annihilated while the world remained silent.

It will also screen two key videos featuring Yasin Malik and Bitta Karate (Farooq Ahmed Dar), where they acknowledge their roles.

And guess what? Yasin Malik is these days free and as a senior member of the Hurriyat Conference working towards Jammu and Kashmir's secession from India. Bitta Karate is also free and practicing politics in Kashmir after he was released by the Government of India because the prosecution could not build a case against him.

Only in India can you have someone admitting, on camera, his role and the prosecution not able to build a case against him. What a shame!

If you believe in securing the nation -- the nation of Bharata, then spend some time visiting the blog to understand what Kashmiri Hindus have suffered and then be part of this event on June 20 (event details below).

It is time for all of us to stand up for Kashmiri Hindu refugees and send a strong, loud and clear signal to the government that we will not allow our nation to become a banana republic where terrorists roam free with Z-level official security while Indian Kashmiri Hindus, who believe in India and the Indian flag, live like refugees with no home that they can call their own.

Do we stand up for those whose human rights get violated?

Do we fight for fair and timely justice?

Do we make our voices heard?

Do we become the change that we want to bring about?

Do we want to be part of a movement that will secure the pillars of our nation?

Or

Do we stand as mute spectators in our society?

The answer lies within us and the choice is ours.

Games Media plays in India

(source: haindavakeralam.org)

Pseudo secular Media is the curse of Indian Society. Media barons who act on behalf Christians, Jehadis and Communists are in the payroll of these anti national forces. Most of the Indian media presents fabricated and distorted news to serve the anti Hindu propaganda. Several instances clearly indicate the fabricated and distorted news. Here are some examples:

Ø News Headlines / Flash News used to says - 20 people of a ‘particular community’ shot dead in Doda Kashmir- how many of you know that they were all Hindus?.

When the recent unrest took place in Vadodara, the headline flashed as - 'Muslim boy shot to death in vadodara, unrest deepens'. Please compare the deliberate psychological game and mind manipulation in these two reports..

Ø Ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Hindus will be reported as "death of minority". But if it is the death of a Kashmiri Muslim, Media headlines goes like this - "Militants begin targeting Kashmiri Muslims"!.

Ø More than two lakhs Kashmiri Hindus have been exterminated, yet no media or politicians are aware about it nor finds time to shed a single tear for them. When 2000 Gujarati Muslims were died in riots, Media and Politicians wake up from their self imposed denial and make huge hue and cry. For them, 2000 Muslim lives are more valuable than 200,000 Hindus!.

Ø When Muslim riots took place in Gujarat, every Media wanted to chop off the head of Sangh Parivar leaders, but when Jihadi Terrorists attacked Akshardam Temple, Varanasi, New Delhi, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Marad, & Mumbai, Media and pseudo secularists appealed for peace and communal harmony!

Ø Television channel, especially Communist control NDTV showcase the plight of Muslims in Gujarat every now and then. But why no single media in India is concerned about the plight of Kashmiri Hindus?

Ø Photograph of a Muslim crying in front of the police with his hands folded is widely circulated after Gujarat riots. But how many of us saw the photographs of the burnt bodies of 20 Hindu children in the Godhra attack?. Media were never interested in showing any reports or photographs of the Parents / Widows / Children of the innocent Hindus being killed by the Islamic terrorists in Godhra, Kashmir, New Delhi, Bangalore, Kerala, Hyderabad and Coimbatore etc..

Ø 30,000 temples were destroyed during the Mughal regimes and it is not an issue for biased Indian media, but when Hindus wanted to reconstruct temples in Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura, the media twists it is an attempt to communalize Indian society!

Ø About the recent Vadodara unrest. 14 temples blocking the road were demolished, no objection from any Hindus. One similar Dargah was demolished became a national problem!. All the prominent medias called for Narendra Modi to resign following this incident and became the headlines in all the national Medias.

Ø Finally, the recent Mumbai blasts. Communist sponsored English
newspaper THE HINDU was busy in highlighting the rescue operations carried out by the Muslims and the number of Muslims attended in blood donation camps after terrorist attack. But THE HINDU journalist who reported this news deliberately ignored selfless services of Hindu Organizations in Mumbai.

It must be that the media take pleasure in spreading persistent, pervasive lies about Hindus. What else could explain the credulous acceptance of lies, half-truths and distortion of news about Hindus and selfless services of nationalist Hindu organizations?.

The inconsistencies, deceptions, and outright falsehoods about the reports are obvious. It is profoundly disturbing to note that the picture that continues to emerge from the media about Hindus, in which passive, peace loving, tolerant, nationalist Hindus come out as aggressive, militant, fundamentalists, and the violent, non compromising Muslim and Christian gangs come out as victims.

The hysteria emanating from the journalists is so persistent that the innocent readers may get a negative image of Hindus. This psycho-linguistic programming of the media and deliberate false reporting is not only patently false but also encourage Muslim, Christian and Communist terrorists to continue their deadly, terrorist, and irrational anti national activities.

Hindus must wake up from complacency, and denial, take affairs into their own hands and shape their own destinies. Hindus must unite, reassess themselves, address the media bias and voice their feelings forcefully and assertively with the hostile media.

Hindus must tell the media in strong words and actions that they should not be trifled with.

Why troops can NOT be withdrawn!!!

J&K: Terrorists kill 5 members of a Hindu family killed in Rajouri

PDP leader and ex-CM of J&K, Mufti Syed and his daughter/PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti - have been clamouring and shouting from roof tops for a while now – demanding troop withdrawals from the disturbed state of J&K, threatening to rock the government in the state (which they are partners to – by way of coalition with Congress-I). Ghulam Nabi Azad (current CM of state) and Manmohan Singh are facing a tough time keeping the wailing babies soothed for now.

Why has PDP suddenly realised that withdrawal of troops is needed from the valley? The same Mufti Syed was the CM of the state just a while ago – and never bothered to withdraw troops at that time when he had direct power in his hands. It’s a well known fact in the valley that Mufti and his family are hardcore pro-Pakistani’s and act on directions from across the LOC. Pakistan is increasingly facing pressure in its own home – whether with trouble around the failing institutions or lack of democracy – or pressure from US/NATO with their failure to curb terrorist activities. They want to push some of the pressure and attention towards India… So PDP got its SOS from across LOC to rake in the hoo-halla for demilitarization of the state – even when nothing has really changed on the ground.

Unfortunately the weak kneed governments Delhi has and the hunger to stick onto power of Congress-I, especially after their recent poll debacles – they don’t have the nerve ask Mufti to shut up.

So Mr. Mufti Syed – here 10 reasons why troops can not be withdrawn from the state…

  1. Mufti Saab – you seem to be one of those leaders who believes that your job is only to create news – not read it. If you had been reading news – you would have read about the massacre’s your dear terrorists are committing even now in the state. How can troops return?
  2. The terrorists you helped in getting released by staging the drama of your daughter’s (Rubiayya Syed) kidnapping in 1989 are still at large. The troops have to first capture and cull those terrorists you shielded and helped escape – then troops will return.
  3. By your own admission there are just few thousand terrorists left in the state and you claim that presence of few hundred thousand troops is not justified. Please give us the exact address and location of these 2000-3000 terrorists so that they can be eliminated – since you know who and where they are! The troops can’t return as long as there is even one such terrorist in the state.
  4. The temples and shrines of Kashmiri Hindu’s you and your stooges razed to ground and plundered in the riots in mid-1980’s and then again 1990’s are still not restored. Troops are needed there to protect the remaining ones from falling prey to the wave of Talibanization of the valley.
  5. Over half a million Kashmiri Hindu’s who were ethnically cleansed from the valley are still refugees in India – waiting for a safe and honourable return their homeland. How can troops return without ensuring the safe climate for their return?
  6. Killers of Kashmiri Pandits – Yasin Malik, Bitta Karate and many others are still roaming freely in the valley. How can troops be withdrawn when the killers are still at large.
  7. The drama of facilitating return of Kashmiri Pandit’s to the valley – and the safe zones you created for them while you were CM – is yet to see its last act. The safe tenements you had government of India pay for – are still unoccupied by those they were intended for. How can troops return without those being populated first – without fulfilling you so-called dream?
  8. You as the Home Minister in the cabinet of Mr. V.P.Singh – promulgated the AFSPA (Armed forces special Powers Act) in the state. If this act was illegal and barbarian – then you should be the first person to be hung by the noose. How can troops return – and disobey your orders?
  9. Ask your friends in Pakistan to shut down the terror coaching camps on the other side. Troops will have no job on this side once that happens.
  10. You say violence is down in the state – so troops should be withdrawn. Is this proof of violence being down in the state? Look at the statistics of terror incidents in last 14 months here. When this level of terror activity is still on – how can the troops return?

Kashmir Problem - A cycle of High and lows in history...

Slightly off the flow article - never the least I found its analysis of the thousands years of highs and lows of Kashmir history rather interesting and concerning....

The author/source is not known - got it forwarded by someone, who thought I might be interested in reading this... If you know the author/source - please let me know for due credits to be accorded.

Article reproduced verbatim below - (with just some minor spelling corrections)

Kashmir" - it has been a bone of contention between India and Pakistan over the last sixty years. Accusing fingers have been raised at individuals and leaders since 1947. The non- resolution character of the issue springs from the fact that it was an emotional affinity for the inherited property of 'two estranged brothers'. And its HISTORY has played a very vital role which none of the parties involved wants to understand.

Kashmir is also called the land of 'Neela Nag'--Son of 'KASHYAP'--a wandering sage and his wife 'KUDRU'-a supposedly serpent girl, who produced 'half-human' and a 'half-Snake' children. Incidentally, 'Kashmir' is the name derived from Kashyap i.e. 'Kashyap Mar'(KASHYAP's STRIKE). Legend has it that SAGE KASHYAP worshipped and made prayers to LORD VISHNU for 1000 years to let the valley be rid of a monster called JALDEVA-who was a son of SANGHRASUR- an ASURA. The beautiful valley of River Vitasta (Jhelum) of Vedic name has no one to blame but its own history for its current miseries. If it is now in the centre stage of current Indo-Pak face off, it is the handiwork of its history.

Frankly speaking, since 1820, Kashmir has been under the spell of the curse of its own history. And the cure will also come from its history only! I bet you will dismiss this as a joke. But recorded facts are otherwise. This logic (or truth!) of history of Kashmir was revealed to me, some eight years back, by an illiterate 'Kashmiri Guzzar' of North Kashmir, when I had gone there to study the Kargil-99 Episode. My friend, K****din, was convinced about it and I was stunned by it. And more I read about its history, more I am enamoured by the sheer veracity of this logic. Here are some of the key points of my friend, K****din's theory of 'Grand-Cycles-of-Kashmir-History': -

Ø Every 780-800 years of Kashmir's recorded history, it has been under the domination of a particular religion. This period of 780-800 years is called 'Grand Cycle of History'.

Ø Every Grand Cycle is further subdivided into three sub-cycles of 265-275 years each.

Ø First Sub- cycle of each Grand Cycle relates to emergence, development and progress of a particular religion.

Ø Second Sub- Cycle pertains to consolidation and prosperity of the religion.

Ø The first two sub cycles of 530-550 years, as above, make the 'Golden Period of Domination of a Religion in Kashmir'.

Ø The Third Sub Cycle leads to decay and degeneration of the predominant religion and ushers the era of emergence of a new religious philosophy, which shall dominate for other 530-550 years.

Ø The term ' Religious Domination' is to be read as 'State

Ø Patronization' of the philosophy of 'Worship and rituals' by human beings in a particular manner.

Keeping the above in mind, let us have a brief glance at the recorded history of Kashmir. The best sources are RAJTARANGNI by Kalhan and 'Nilamat Puran' of 2nd century AD. I MUST HERE GIVE YOU A BACKGROUNDER ON THE RECORDED HISTORY OF KASHMIR. Succeeding paragraphs will endeavour to condense a long winding story- beginning with KALHANA'S book 'RAJTARINGANI'.

'Rajtarangini' begins with the year 1184 BC when Gonanda-I, a 'Shaivite'(Followers of Lord SHIVA!) king was ruling Kashmir. It roughly relates to 'Mahabharta Period'-the great 'HINDU Epic'. The grand son of Gonanda-I was Gonanda-II who was deposed by one -Haran Deva, a brother of 'Janamejya' and Grandson of Arjun (Great Arjuna of Mahabharata War). Most Western and Indian Historians agree that Mahabharta War took place around 1000-1100 BC, although some Indian scholars put the date around 3000 BC. We will go by the majority opinion.

It will be interesting to note, prior to the coming of Aryans, the VAISHNAVITES (Worshippers of Lord Vishnu-the Vegetarians), major portion of Northern South Asian sub continent (Present day India, Pakistan, Bangla Desh etc) was inhabited by "SHAIVITES" (Worshippers of Lord Shiva - the Non Vegetarians). Look at the old ancient 'Shiva Temples' spread along the length and breadth of the sub continent.

'Shaivism' and 'Vaishnavism' were different temporal philosophies-one stressed on Non-Vegetarian food the other on pure vegetarian food. Shaivism insisted on 'ENJOYING THE PRESENT'; whereas Vaishanavism preached on 'IMPROVING YOUR TOMORROW'. These were the practising faiths of the people of this region. There was nothing known as 'HINDUISM' till 530 AD. The 'two' were altogether different cults or what you call religions today. We will call them 'separate religions' to understand the issue properly.

Let us, now, look at the five GRAND CYCLES of different dominating religions in the recorded history of Kashmir. They are: -

Ø The FIRST CYCLE belongs to 'SHAIVISM'. This GRAND CYCLE PERIOD in Kashmir ended with the deposition of Gonanda-II by Harandeva, a VAISHNAVITE. This was the end of 1st Grand Cycle of its history. It was around 1050 BC. We do not have any recorded version of history prior to this. There are only mythological tales. RAJTARANGINI says there were some 108 kings before GONANDA-1, who were the descendants of one DAYA KARAN. But all legends tell us it was the abode of Lord Shiva and his followers were of 'Naga Race'. Remember, Prince Takshak, who killed Parikshat- Arjun's son. He was a Naga. It is a different matter Aryan literature dubbed him as a 'Nag'- a 'Serpent'-a 'Cobra'.

Ø The Second Grand Cycle of Kashmir began around 1030-1050 BC. 'Vaishnavism' dominated it and it ended around 250 BC when great 'Ashoka' came to Kashmir and founded SRI NAGAR in honour of goddess LAXMI (Approximately 800 years). Note, he was a Buddhist king and he established a city in the name of VAISHNAV goddess. It explains that cults (or so called religions of today) had no separate identity. They were intermixing and inter-mingling. They made a composite culture of the region.

Ø The Third Grand Cycle heralded BUDHISM in Kashmir and ruled the roost from 250 BC to 530 AD. 'Kushan' kings patronized it. 'Kushans' came to Kashmir from China around 260 BC. They were followed by Shakas and Huns. This grand cycle ended with the emergence of Huns (a Chinese tribe), whose first king of Kashmir was MIHIRKULA ? a known tyrant in history (Approximately 780 years).

Ø The Fourth Grand Cycle, which established ' Hinduism', began around 530 AD, when Gopal Ditya, Mihirkula's son, came to throne. It is he, who gave religious recognition to the term 'HINDUISM' as we know it today. Here-to-fore, the term 'Hindu' was used only as a geographical identity for the land East of 'River Indus'. It is pertinent to note the word 'Hindu' has a Persian origin and derived from 'Sindhu'- a 'Sanskrit' word. 'Sindhu' was the name given to River Indus (From Sindhu it became 'Hindu' in Persian and from Hindu it became 'Indus', Indic or Indi in Greek). As ancient Persians pronounced 'S' - as an aspirate 'h', so 'Sindhu' became 'Hindu'. No Vedic literature or religious scriptures mention the word 'Hindu', whether it is 'Vedas', 'Upanishads' or the great epics. In the written form, first time the word 'Hindu' appears on a tablet dated back to 518 BC when king Darius- I was ruling Persia. He used it to describe the geographical extent of his kingdom upto and beyond River Hindu (or Sindhu or Indus). Anyway, to cut the story short, till Gopalditya became king in Kashmir in 530 AD, the term 'Hindu' had only a geographical identity for the people living East of River Indus. To Gopalditya, these people were a Curious mix of conflicting beliefs and ideologies but with traits of liberal tolerance and peaceful co-existence. He, therefore, saw 'Shaivites', 'Vaishnavites' and 'Buddhists' as a composite mix of a larger philosophy. He termed it as 'Hinduism' and converted himself to it. Thus, it was a Chinese Hun, who gave 'Hinduism' its religious identity as a composite 'Culture of the Way of Living' of people. This Grand cycle of 'Hinduism' flourished between 530 AD to 1325 AD. (Approximately 795 years). It ended when Rinchen Shah, a Tibetan prince, came to power after marrying Rani KOTA DEVI, whose husband had run away when the Turks invaded Kashmir in 1324 AD.

Ø The Fifth Grand Cycle, which brought in ISLAM, began around 1325 AD when Rinchen Shah, the King, converted to Islam as he was snubbed by a Brahmin Mr. Dev swami, who stopped him from converting to Hinduism. An outsider, Gopalditya-a Hun, had initiated the reign of HINDUISM in KASHMIR, but another outsider was prevented and he brought in Islam. Even before this, all famous Buddhist kings of Kashmir had been outsiders- Kushans from china ? such as Jalushka, Haluska and Kanishka. Do not forget Harandeva (A Great Grandson of Arjuna of Mahabharta) - an Aryan, was an also outsider.

Ø The golden period of 500 years of Islam in Kashmir was up to 1820 AD - when it was annexed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The third sub-cycle of this grand cycle began around 1820 AD. This sub cycle is of decay and degeneration. If you add other 265- -275 years to the 1820 AD, this grand cycle will close around 2085 to2095 AD.

Ø In other words, by the end of 21st century, the SIXTH GRAND CYCLE will take over. What will be its characteristics? It could be more liberalized 'Secularism' or 'Globalism'. I RECKON, BY THEN, THE MANKIND WOULD HAVE GOT RID OF THE GRIP OF RELIGIONS OVER IT AND THE MAN WOULD HAVE ENTERED THE 'COSMIC AGE'. We would have left THREE WAVES of Agriculture, Industrial and Information / Knowledge waves far behind. The last wave of KNOWLEDGE will drive away religion to the privacy of our homes only. I suppose it will take another90- 100 years for COSMIC MAN to emerge on the scene. COSMIC MAN will live in the GLOBAL VILLAGE and work in the SPACE interacting with EXTRA TERRESTIAL(ET) INTELLIGENCE. This is there on the cards. Read the writing on the wall. KASHMIR, then, like any other region or place, will be an interconnected and interfaced as a micro- dot on the GLOBAL CHIP. When the concept of NATION-STATE becomes redundant---many large nations will meet the fate of 'lost civilisations'. But till it happens, the Kashmir pot will keep boiling? History itself will seek answer for the problem which has roots in its annals. Rests, all of them are mere actors in this drama of history.

Having said this much, let me also make two points on the current day problem of Kashmir. First of all, it is a misnomer to equate Kashmir with the erstwhile territories of the state of J&K of Maharaja Hari Singh. The J&K territories of Maharaja Hari Singh comprised six different regions, which historically, ethnically, geographically and linguistically had nothing in common except a lose central control of 100 years by the descendants of Raja Gulab Singh. These regions were Jammu, Laddakh, Kashmir, Baltistan, Dardistan, and 'Naushehra-Poonch-URI-Mirpur' extension of Western Punjab. While Jammu, Laddakh and Kashmir Valley are with India; Baltistan, Dardistan (both making Northern areas of Pakistan) and 'Naushehra-Mirpur' extension of Western Punjab (NOW POK) are with Pakistan. It is misunderstood and lost identity of other five regions and confused synonym of Kashmir with J&K which is the cause of problem between India and Pakistan. J&K is not Kashmir but Kashmir is part of it. To find a solution to this problem, Kashmir must be de-linked from other regions.

My second point emerges from this. If India committed blunders in 1947-1950, so has Pakistan. If only Pakistan had not forced the hands of Maharaja Hari Singh by sending tribal raiders in Sept 1947, the history would have been entirely different. This was the biggest blunder of MA Jinnah who acted on the ill - timed advice of his military advisor, Major General Akbar Khan (The infamous General Tariq of Tribal Raiders in Kashmir in 1947). Mountbatten, a so-called friend of India, had ensured that Indian leadership of the time, remained drowned in its self-created sea of moralities. But Jinnah lacked patience or time (he was dying of cancer!).

However, Jinnah and Nehru could do nothing about it as 'History of Kashmir' had scripted their roles as much. Ordained by History, events in Kashmir moved, as it desired. All these Gilainis, Bhatts, Salahuddins, Yasin Maliks, Javed Mirs, Omar Farouks, Dhars, Sheikh Abdullahs, are pawns in the hands of the history of Kashmir. Kashmir had known tyrants (terrorists!) in its history: from 'Jaldevs' in the ancient times to 'Mihirkulas' in the medieval times. All were outsiders. Today's Salahuddins, Azhar Masouds, and their elk are the replicas of yesteryears 'Jaldevs' and 'Mihirculas'. History of Kashmir is using these terror groups to move on its pre-ordained path. Right Sir, history will find a cure at the right time. Wait till the end of the century.

One passing remark I will make. Looking for a solution to Kashmir problem? Are you? Then, India and Pakistan must get out of the vicious grip of history. In simple terms, 1947 is not 2007 as 2007 will not be 2099. And today's solution is that LOC must be accepted as 'INTERIM IB'. Leave the rest to future generations. Do they have the courage to do so? If not, then, keep playing into the hands of history.

Simla agreement of 1972; Lahore Declaration of 1999, saw the vision of such a possibility but it got scuttled because Nawaz Sharief & CO, realizing this possibility at a future date, pre-maturely ventured into 'LOC-Nibbling- Act' in Kargil in 1999. His Kargil misadventure was aimed at occupying important heights in Kargil before LOC became accepted as IB. Basically, it was to safeguard his 'Northern Areas'-where a problem of independence is brewing up.

But history outsmarted him through his generals, who enlarged the scope of 'Nibbling-Act' to a total "Misadventure". And it derailed the whole process. History of Kashmir is too strong to allow anyone to tinker with its well-charted course. You need men of steel nerves on both sides of the fence to override her wishes. Lawlessness (read TERRORISM) in Kashmir, sir, is a creation of history and it will die when it would have served her purpose. Till then live with it or make its mother infertile. It needs men of vision on both sides to understand this alternative option.

Kashmiriyat - the Muslim definition...

This article below in Greater Kashmir Online finally should tell the Indian media - which harps so much about "Kashmiriyat" whats really is in the minds of the majority of Kashmir. I have repeatedly written about the hoax Kashmiriyat is and how its been a curse for the Pandits... and now read the muslim view on it.

I must thank Suhail Showkeen for blowing the cover off the pretense and speaking what Muslims actually have in their hearts... this is the Kashmiriyat which they wanted to convert to "Nizam-E-Mustafa"... this is the Kashmiriyat that meant Pandits living at mercy of the majority community as second class citizens - as Hindu's and Christains do today in Islamic states like Pakistan and Bangladesh... this is the Kashmiriyat that meant "convert, die or flee" for the 5% minority Hindu's in the valley... and this is the Kashmiriyat that reduced the once majority community of the valley into a non-existant minority - refugee's in their own country.

The construct of ‘Kashmiriyat’

It is a mix of two ideologies which makes it to stand somewhere outside Islam, analyses Suhail Showkeen

“Kashmiriyat” is a word in vogue. Letters and articles are written regarding it. Books and magazines are published for its promotion and propagation and media is also used to disseminate the theory of “Kashmiriyat”. A number of articles have appeared and are still appearing in this newspaper by different authors giving different definitions of this term. But one thing which is common in all these definitions is that the very term “Kashmiriyat consists of the inevitable elements–secularism and nationalism and without these two constituent elements the “concept of Kashmiriyat” cannot be conceived. In other words, “Kashmiriyat” is nothing but a hotchpotch of these two ideologies. As Muslims it is obligatory on us to judge both of these ideologies with true Islamic perspective so that we may be in a position to accept or reject the same. So in order to form any opinion regarding “Kashmiriyat”, it is necessary that the above-mentioned two ideologies should be dealt with in detail.
First comes the ideology of “Secularism”. In simple words, secularism is a principle of separation of religion from politics and this separation is one of the greatest tragedies in human life. It has reduced religion to become a private affair between an individual and God. It has also deprived man of the invaluable guidance of religion in social and collective affairs. It made ruthless inroads into religion.
It gainsays all the moral values and declares them to be only relative in character. By virtue of this “Ism”, the man lost the real hold of things and began to shape his own career with complete disregard to the divine guidance and thus, became an objective slave of his own passions and desires. Renaissance brought in its wake this concept of “secularism”. What was done actually is that a line of demarcation was drawn arbitrarily by the men at the helm of renaissance forces, cynically allotting to Christianity merely a tiny niche of human life in the shape of Sunday service in the Church and of the rites of birth and marriage and of burial on death. This new concept of “secularism” was liberal enough to allow Christianity only a peripheral existence, and too a din, pale and divorced existence from the storm and stress of life.
Consequently, Christianity lost its hold and grip for the political and collective affairs of man and was left merely as a dogma and a ritual. On the contrary Islam as a complete divine way of life i.e. “Ad-Deen” demands full and complete subservience on part of its followers. It strongly negates rather condemns this so-called separation of religion from politics. It demands complete implementation in every aspect of life whether private, collective, social, economic or political. As Allah (SWT) says: “The religion before Allah is only Islam” (Al-Qur’an, 3:19).
“If anyone desires a Deen other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost” (Al-Qur’an, 3:85). “O you who believe! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly; and do not follow the footsteps of the evil one” (AL-Baqarah, 2:208). “This day I have perfected your Deen for you, completed my favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your Deen”. (Al-Maidah, 5:3). Allama Iqbal (RA) has rightly said: “I behold the politics of secularism, the maid of evil, of low nature an dead conscience”. The great scholar and jurist of contemporary times Dr. Allama Yousuf-Al Qardawi regards belief in secularism as blasphemy (Fatawa, Vol: 1, page No. 70).
The second fundamental element of this “Kashmiriyat” is nationalism. Nationalism, in simple words is a social attitude, which makes nation and nationality the over-mastering, centripetal force, to which must gravitate the whole fabric of society. In nationalism, nation is the master of the people. Sovereignty vests in nation. The greatest virtue is to sacrifice for the nation and the greatest crime is to go against it. The expression “my nation, right or wrong” is redolent of a nationalist mind. This redolence we can clearly see in the following sayings – Mazzini, the protagonist of romantic or liberal nationalism, could not refrain from asserting that “the destinies of Italy are the destinies of the world”. Fichte went much further about Germany and said: “It is first of all the Germans who are called upon to begin the new era as pioneers and models for the rest of mankind.” (Freedom and Organization by Bertrand Russell, pp 405). He further says: “to have character and to be German undoubtedly mean one and the some thing”. (Ibid, pp 407). Now every sane person can assess what sort of disaster this type of biased and fanatic ideology can bring to the humanity, as it did in the past. This concept of nationalism proved a deathblow to the moral code and humanitarian view in one’s individual and collective affairs. The idea of the unity of man was completely exploded. Humanity was divided into innumerable units and groups on the basis of homeland, language, colour, caste, race, class and community. This helped to create a number of prejudices. To quote Hans Kohan: “For nationalism represents “vested interests”, not only political and economic but also intellectual and emotional, of an intensity and extent shown by no previous idea. In the face of the omnipotence of nationality, humanity seems a distant idea, a pale theory or a poetic dream through which the red blood of life does not pulsate”. (The idea of nationalism, pp 21-22).
Now, a far as the two systems – Islam and nationalism are concerned they stand poles apart. The idea of oneness of man is foreign to the modern society engulfed by nationalism. It has divided mankind into innumerable tiny compartments of nation, caste, colour, race etc. on the other hand Islam strongly believes in the oneness of man. According to Islam all men are the children of the same parents, Adam and Eve and hence, they are all brothers. The whole humanity is one family and the whole world is one home. The artificial walls erected by nationalism between man and man must therefore be razed to the ground and man must be freed from the tyrannies of division. Islam frees man from the bondage of his own passions and desires, from the tradition and customs and from the clutches of other men, nation or other demigods. In short it frees man from the bondage of man. Allah (SWT) says: “O mankind! Be careful to your duty to your lord who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women.” (An-Nisa 4:1)
“And He it is who hath produced you from a single being, and (hath given you) a habitation and repository.” (Al An’aam 6:98) say (O Muhammad): O mankind! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah to you all”. (Al-Aa’raf 7:158). “O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! The noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. (Al-Hujrat 49:13).
In word and deed, our most respected and beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the perfect embodiment of the Qur’an and the final guide to the whole humanity (Kaafatan Naas). His sermon on the occasion of the last pilgrimage was a remarkable epitome of his ceaseless and indefatigable endeavour. He reminded the mammoth gathering before him that all human beings were born of Adam and Adam was born of dust, that the Arab and vice versa and that white people had no superiority over black people and vice-versa. He commissioned the concourse present there to convey this message to those who where not there. It was an address to humanity at large and it constituted the first and finest character of liberty, equality and freedom of man. May blessing of Allah and peace be upon Muhammad (SAW) – the real benefactor of humanity?
It must be clear by now beyond any shadow of doubt that Islam stands of humanity, super-nationalism, internationalism and nationalism and categorically negates and opposes this “new European god” of Nationalism whether it is Racial, Linguistic, Roman, Democratic, Totalitarian or of any other type. Allama Iqbal (RA) is cent percent right when he says: “The greatest among fresh Gods is country, its apparel is the shroud of religion.” (Bang-e-Dara).
I have taken pains to discuss extensively these two modern ideologies so that we may be able to form an opinion about “Kashmiriyat” which is the hotch-potch of both these ideologies and is being foisted upon the minds of Kashmiri Muslims through electronic and print media. It is now proved beyond any doubt that this “Kashmiriyat” is an alien concept and it undoubtedly undermines the basic concepts of Islam on the one hand and on the other hand it is this tool of “Kashmiriyat” which has been used to sabotage the concept of unity among Muslims of the sub-continent.
As “Kashmiryat” is undoubtedly an un-Islamic rather anti-Islamic ideology, so it is very strange on part of those “Muslims” who have devoted and are utilizing their capabilities in promotion and dissemination of this alien “secular and nationalistic” idea. I would like to conclude with the excerpt taken from the prophetic and pathetic speech delivered by Moulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar (RA) at the Round Table Conference in London in 1930, just a few days before death so that it may serve as an eye-opener for all the secular and nationalists of the world:
“Many people in England ask us why this question of Hindu and Muslim comes into politics and what it has to do with these things. I reply, it is a wrong conception of religion that you have, it you exclude politics from it. It is not dogma, it is not ritual! Religion, to my mind, means the interpretation of life”. I have a culture, a polity, an outlook on life – a complete synthesis which is Islam. Where God commands. I am a Muslim first, a Muslim second, and a Muslim last, and nothing but a Muslim… we are not nationalists but super-nationalists, and I as a Muslim say that “God made man and the devil made the nation.” Nationalism divides, our religion binds. No religious wars, no crusades, have been such holocausts and have been so cruel as your last war, and that was a war of your nationalism and not my Jehad”

(Pakistan Movement Historic Documents by G Allama 1968 Edition, Pages 81-832)
Seeing Kashmiriyat through this perspective will not mislead us any further.

Crocodile Tears... And Tragedy of Being Hindu from Kashmir…

Yasin (Yaseen) Malik on Hunger Strike in New Delhi

A terrorist who has repeatedly admitted to having killed innocent unarmed people in Kashmir – and is behind the large scale killings of Kashmiri Pandits in early 1990s, today goes on a token hunger strike in New Delhi.

And the Indian media will be there in full strength to glorify and make a hero of a terrorist. After all, no Barkha Dutt gets an award without making demi-gods out of demons.

No one will dare question him where this devil turned leader ever even said a Sorry to the families of those he killed mercilessly before turning saint. No one will even dare ask the other devil – Govt of India – as to why Yasin Malik is free to roam around freely and not having been convicted for his crimes so far.

It’s a tragedy being born a Hindu in Kashmir – minority in a country otherwise labeled as a Hindu nation by the world press. Kashmir Pandits (Hindus) killed – and no one bothers. Yasin Malik, Bitta Karate’s, Shabir Shah’s, Geelani’s and Mufti’s go on with life happily with Hindu blood on their hands. It doesn’t matter – because ignoring pain of a Hindu is equivalent to being secular. Election commission of India never bothered about the half a million disenfranchised Kashmiri Pandits, who have not been able to caste their votes for past one and half decades – but the same Election Commission put Gujrat elections on hold because 5000 Muslims were still away from their homes and living in temporary camps for just some weeks or months…

Want more proof – the legislature of the state, which we all know is fully dominated by Kashmiri political class, which turn is in full grip of Jehadi forces goes ahead and adopts Shariat law in the state. The same legislature however feels threatened when a bill for protection of Hindu shrines is presented before it. The house refuses to ensure protection for shrines and religious places of Kashmiri Hindu’s… of course this means they will be creating road blocks for the Jihadi agenda of total ethnic cleansing in the valley – most of which has already been accomplished with extermination of Kashmiri Pandits forcing their exodus from the valley to refugee camps in rest of India, and then slow Talibanization of the state (read here and here).

But then – did any Barkha Dutt or Rajdeep Sardesai bother to question the state government on the logic behind their open support for destruction and encroachment of Hindu shrines – NO it’s not in keeping with the secular image. The government behind the shameful denial of protection is the same Congress(I) government which claims to the upholder of minority rights at centre. 15 years down – and we still have Babri Masjid destruction in headlines – but no one wants to talk of destruction of the 1000’s of shrines and temples in Kashmir – temples which are not only valuable religious heritage for Hindus, but also a huge heritage value for the world since most of these are more than a thousand year old.

But – take my word – this evening a Sonia Manio Gandhi will be there in front of Yasin Malik offering orange juice – Manmohan Singh will be there assuring words of minorityism. Then the same bunch of terrorists will be on all leading national channels – shedding crocodile tears for those missing.

I challenge the Indian media – if these tube journo’s have any iota of self respect and true journalism left in them – to ask Yasin Malik and his ilk some of the following questions:

  • The innocent unarmed people he killed in his past avatar as a terrorist haven’t returned home either. What answers he has for their families who are still waiting for their kith and kin to return after 15 years?
  • For years Hurriyat and muslims of Kashmir have been saying that the movement is indigenous and it’s the youth of Kashmir who are fighting out there in the valley. That’s these youth picked up the gun for Jihad and Nizam-e-Mustafa. That they went across the border into POK and Pakistan for training on arms, ammunition, IEDs, sabotage and subversion. What on earth do they expect to happen on return other than death and pain?
  • Why didn’t these families stop their young folks before they went for arms and terror training in Pakistan?
  • Why didn’t these families say No to giving support, food and shelter to terrorists?
  • Did they expect the grenades and Kalashnikov’s they brought into the valley to yield a crop of apples and apricots?
  • Were they naïve enough to expect the RDX they smuggled into India to be used as fertilizers in the farms for bigger crops of paddy?
  • When their fidayeen (suicide bombers) go out on a suicide attack on a government installation or picket or when the LeT or Jaish terrorists – whom they hail as hero’s go out on ambush shoot outs in crowded areas, do they expect the bullets flying criss-cross to have name detectors enabled on them – so that they will dodge the common man caught in between? I am not sure if ISI has developed or stolen any such AI technology yet…
  • Was it the security forces which laid seize on Chrar and burnt it? Why did not they protect the Afghan, Saudi and Moroccon mercenaries back then? Why didn’t they go and protest against Mast Gul?
  • Why are they protesting in Delhi – but when they are back in Srinagar, they take out processions welcoming killers like Bitta Karate?

M for Mischevious Manipulator Mufti

I have talked about the how Mufti Mohammed Sayyed – the ex-Chief Minister of J&K and head of the ruling PDP and once ex-Home Minister of India - is one of them – a terrorist in politicians clothes, his role in Hindu genocide of 1985, his hand in glove role with the terrorists as Home minister of India, his anti-Pandit mind-set… but this piece penned by Brij Dass is just awesome. Full credits to the author – and I hope he would pardon me for reproducing it here without his prior permission.

‘M’ for Mischievous

Author – Brij Dass

’Bahach’ is a big boat. Four-fifth of the boat is covered with a thatched or shingle roof. Its front and a little of the rare portion are open. Bahach serves partly as the floating house to its inmates and partly to carry goods from one place to the other. The wife of the boatman sits at the rare portion holding the oar to give direction to the floating Bahach. The boatman on the open front pulls it.

A Bahach in the midst of Wular Lake was caught in a wind storm. The lady at the rare started beating her breast, crying and praying to Babh Shakur Din, a shrine on the hillock overlooking the lake: "Babh Shakur Dina bachav(save us). Her infuriated husband thrashed his wife: "This is His wind storm (Yehi che amisenzei cheth. Ye chuna nete vechaan. Yemisenz cheth temisei chekh che venan becahv. Keri dheli chope). Is he not seeing it? You are asking the planter of the wind to save you".

A widow in Ashmuj, a militant infested village in Kulgam Tehsil was teaching English alphabet to her orphan grand son. Both her husband and her son had died while fighting for their cause.

Thus the grand mother started: "A for Abdullah; B for Bakshi...M for Mischievous...the young scholar was surprised and instead of repeating M for Mischievous, he said M for Mufti. The mother insisted M for mischievous. The boy said: "If A for Abdhullah and B for Bakshi stand for names why M should stand for an adjective. The grand mother yielded and said: "Both mean the same. Let you read M for Mischievous Mufti". A little later, the boy asked his grand mother: "How do both mean the same?"

Thus explains the Grandee:

"People have little memory. In January 1990 the double M was the Home Minister of India. He brought out the Indian Army from their barracks to civil areas. He brought CRP Force and BSF to the valley. He caused massacre of people at Maisuma Bazar and many other places. During his Home Ministry many of the mourners participating in the funeral procession of Moulavi Farooq were shot dead. He manipulated kidnapping of his daughter Dr.Rubaya Syed. He promulgated the Army Special Powers law enacted. Most of the times he was sent as an MLA to the Assembly by Khaliq DC as an uncontested member.

Today the author of all the atrocities is talking of healing touch to the wounds caused by him. He is asking for the withdrawal of the armed forces which were installed by him. Today he talks for the withdrawal of the Army Special Powers Act enacted by him in 1990. He used to rig the elections and today he asks for fair elections of 2002. I wonder how he is spared by those who suffered injuries of different intensity because of him. It is nothing short of Double M's cheth (Wind storm). Let people forget the historical facts, but I remember my deep wounds are because of the double M". Go ahead and read " M for Mischievous Mufti"..M for Manipulator.

While teaching, the Granny resumed the swing to her body and said: "Go ahead and read G for Geelani; G for Goat; M for Mischievous Mufti..M for Manipulator". The son said: "Why Geelani is associated with Goat?" "This is one of the teaching methods" said the Granny. One event is remembered by associating it to the other. He draws pension as an ex-MLA. He could not get enough strength in the Assembly to be the Chief Minister of the State. And he knows that he will never get absolute majority to be the State Head. For face saving he boycotts elections. Out of vengeance he has taken a vow to rule all the grave yards in the State. He gets lot of pleasure and satisfaction in ruling the dead and is contented that if not live he could be the emperor of the dead. A Persion quotation is 'In case of no worry keep a goat to purchase worries'. Thus G for goat and to remember it associate it with G for Geelani. Both cause worries.

Herath Mubarakh!!!

Wishing all "Herath Mubarakh"....a very very Happy Shivratri.

Our 17th Herath(Shivratri) in exile...

Shivratri known as Herath is the most important festival in the Kashmiri Pandit calendar. The festivities begin well at start of Phalgun krishnapakh - and go on through the fortnight, each day having a significance and events related to it. Gor'e trey, Hur-ashtami, doonye daham, etc being prominent one's other than the Herath day itself.

Herath is celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits on the night of thirteenth day of Phalgun krishnapaksh - a day ahead of when Shivratri is normally celebrated by other sections of Hindus. Herath is a day when fasting, prayers to the Vatuk-raaz'e are offered and the next day (fourteenth day of Krishnapakh Phalgun) is observed as a day of celebration and feasting. Kashmiri's celebrate Shivratri differently from the other sections of Hindus - and not as the day Lord Shiv and Parvati married. Instead, the focus is on pooja of "Vatuk Bairav" and involves elaborate pooja done after sunset and goes well into the night. The picture on the left side shows the decorative layout of the pooja place - Vatuk being the prime deity.

There are lots of customs and traditions related to Herath which may vary from family to family on this day.

It was mandatory for a snowfall to happen on Herath day - Pandits regarded snowfall on the day as a divine sign that their prayers were accepted. Legend has it that an Afghan ruler in Kashmir - Jabbar Khan however decreed that Kashmiri Pandits must celebrate Herath in month of Haar (i.e. around July) since it was no big deal for snowfall to happen in Kashmir in Phalgun (i.e. around Feb or March). Forced by the decree Pandits celebrated Herath once more at peak of summer that year - and it actually snowed that day in summer. The incident is still recalled by Kashmiri's in a folk rhyme
Vuchton' ye Jabbar jandhe'
Haar-as te' korun wande'
(Look at this junk headed Jabbar
He converted summers into winter)
Of course, it doesn't snow anymore in the refugee camps in Jammu and Delhi - when Kashmiri Pandits celebrate Herath today, while in exile. No wonder none of our prayers are getting accepted either.

Pakistan - a Failed State!!!

All through my earlier posts I have repeated made an assertion that "Pakistan" is a failed state and surviving purely on it anti-India passion.

Here is a detailed account and analysis of how the above assertion is proved.

Truth about Pakistan Army role in Kargil war !!!

Pakistan government, army and ISI has for years tried to make the world believe that the Kargil war was just an indigenious act of the armed terrorist groups - and that the army had no role in it.

Here's the truth...

A think or two to remember - the present President of Pakistan General Musharraf was the head of Pakistan army at that time as well and the key planner of this covert war. And yet, US believes that such a trecherous and diabolic person can be an ally in war on terror. Huh!!!
